~This Life, My Life~

I saw this today while looking for graphics for my upcoming blog, humorous of course. But this really got me thinking. I know look out. Lisa’s thinking *chuckles*.

But how many times in life, do teachers, parents, friends, hell even songs tell you what to do, how to do it, what to say, what to be. I mean what happened to individuality and growing up to be what WE choose.

We’re supposed to figure this one out on our own. Really we are!!

Do you ever wonder, when do we really become all we were meant too be. Are we destined to be one way? Or is it a never ending process? Does society make us decide which path to follow? How to live?

Will I be all I’m supposed to at 50, 60, 80? Or is this my life, this moment, this day, this hour, this minute. Is this all I am. A mom, a friend, a lover, an ex, a new love, a writer, a dreamer. I hear all the time we can be whatever we want to be. But can we? That’s NOT reality usually based on circumstance and finances even, Right?

I know I have made some life for myself. I have taken the wrong path so many times I’ve lost count. I have had people pick me up, brush me off more times than I can remember. I have played the same old song over and over again to help me through something, anything. I look for inspiration in quotes, writing, books, people and than in the end, MYSELF.

I am on a path, a new path in fact. Self awareness is ever changing for me. I strive to be a better person tomorrow that I am today. I strive to be a better mother, lover, friend, mate, hell even a better ex wife. (Puts the cyanide away til tomorrow) just kidding.

I realize everyone has an opinion on things I’ve done, said, will do. But hey, what is right or wrong for you, may not be right wrong for me. So yeah, Live YOUR life. Make mistakes, laugh a lot, cry often it’s so good for cleansing the soul. Don’t be afraid to be all you can or can’t be. Because in the end, your life is really choices you make, made and lessons learned.

Keep on being YOU…~!!

~I Found Me~

i found

For the longest time  I lived with bouts of insecurities, emotional turmoil, grief, anger, resentment and chaos. Now mind you I’m a pretty happy person for the most part but it was all the rest truly holding me back from truly living, loving and enjoying life and relationships. I came to the realization that I really was good at putting the blame somewhere else, if he had done this, if the kids wouldn’t do that, etc (He, They, Them) never Me or I. Well you know as much as I can preach, it took me to really sit down with myself and be honest with myself to realize people CAN’T make us feel anything. They can only trigger feelings and opinions we already have about ourselves. So until I forgave myself for not being perfect, for not being a size 2, for not being mom of the year and the best wife/girlfriend/lover, the best daughter or friend and all the other things good and bad that are a part of my life, I was merely just getting by, missing out on true happiness. I am not perfect but I am who I finally wanna be. I have so much to learn over about love, life, parenting, relationships, finances. But at least now I take full responsibility for myself and my happiness and my life…=)

~What Is It?~

an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody and harmony.

What is it about music?

Ever have a bad day and that ONE song can instantly change your mood, ever been dumped and you can just relate with a song, ever just want to dance around the house and know just the right song to play, What is it about music that is so therapeutic?

I mean you can’t listen to “Imagine” by Lennon without pondering the meaning of life right? But then you play a song like “Don’t worry be happy”….just chuckle as that song is as simple  as it gets and don’t tell me every heart broken chick hasn’t listened to “Believe” by Cher?

Am I the only one to look to music for help, with life, love, a bad day, a good day, a song to drink wine with, a song to drink whiskey with, and YES they are two different songs *smiles* and maybe it’s not even help, just a comforting song, that helps you make it through the moment?

I mean for me, you take something like “The Eagles” Take it Easy, to Peaceful, Easy, Feeling and I want to fill my gas tank up and drive, anywhere, windows down, music blaring. Preferably to a warm location. Then you take something like Avenged Sevenfold “Afterlife” or The Foo Fighters “Best Of You” and I want to pull out my rocker tee and rock the fuck out.

Rock on Bitches!

Rock on Bitches!

Oh and than there is SEX music, you know like “Voodoo” by Godsmack, “Like a Stone” by Audioslave, “China Girl” by David Bowie, ” Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground, “You shook me all night long”  by ACDC, etc. they just scream, let’s screw, if you don’t have a bf/gf, other, well find someone, anyone *corrupt giggle*. And somehow “Let’s get it on” by Marvin does not make me think of sex, but if it works for you, have at it *nods*. But I would drink in boy short undies and drink wine to it (just saying). Let’s get it on, that is.

Now, I know your so relating to this blog, Am I right, I think music is better than church on a Sunday. At least for me and how many of you can’t deny hanging out with your girlfriend at some point in your life singing, no screaming word for word, the lyrics to “Beth” by Kiss. I mean we all got those songs, that we know every word too? Am I right? I wonder if dude’s have those songs, they sing with the boys?

Music is my life, there would not be enough prozac, xanax, ambien and other drugs like those if I didn’t have music, and a whole lot of people would be DEAD…..*sighs*.

Sidenote: I do NOT like songs like “Happy Happy Happy” or “Don’t worry be Happy” I am happy, go lucky, optimistic so but I can listen to down right evil lyrics with deafening guitar solo’s and still be happy. I don’t buy into the metal makes you negative or bad *shrugs and the stupid people*.

Music, what is it? Do you have a go to song and if so, What is it….?

~Got Compassion?~

1. a feeling of distress and pity for the suffering or misfortune of another, often including the desire to alleviate it.

It’s a Monday so like any other Monday. I have the food network on. I know odd huh? Seeing as I can’t even cook fish sticks. I really like to watch Restaurant Impossible with Robert Irvine, if you haven’t seen it. It’s about a guy who comes in with 10,000 dollars and two days to fix up failing restaurants. It really is a good show, make sure to check it out sometime.

Now, Robert Irvine can sometimes come off crass, rude and some may even say mean at times. But I think he is just passionate about cooking, business and helping others. Okay on with my blog. Tonight’s show he comes into a struggling restaurant with a family that has 7 kids, they are about to lose their home, their marriage and their business and they have a son who is dying. *cries a bit*.

Robert is more determined than ever to save this business, he show’s compassion, which is generally not usually his strong suit. (At least on the show) Which makes me think, what if all of us showed more compassion towards others?

Compassion involves caring, concern, sympathy and utmost consideration to do no harm. Sometimes people don’t want/need the easy hand out, the financial donation, they want you to understand, to put yourself in their shoes and be compassionate to their situation, no matter what it may be. To put aside your judgements and opinions.

Be kind in your actions and words, Hug someone. Hold someones hand. Listen. Open a door, Help a little old lady across the street. Little things make can make a huge difference in someone’s life. If you can help financially, bless you. To give financially for the right reasons (not a tax deduction) is a wonderful luxury many can’t offer. With that said, Robert Irvine gave 10,000 of his own money and his team gave 10,000 of their own money to this family so they did not lose their house. Helping others is such a wonderful thing *smiles*.

Okay I should note, The opposite of compassionate is unsympathetic, indifference, cruel, hardness of heart, no pity, no desire to help someone at all. Lack of compassion is found in psychopaths or sociopaths. That is one of their hallmarks. They feel nothing where others are concerned except what it gets for them! Hmm I may of been married to a psychopath/sociopath *shrieks a little*

SIDENOTE: It has been studied, the act of compassion, kindness, giving, helping others is beneficial to your health and well being.

A little science behind compassion.

Welcome to Mantra Monday,

Have a FABULOUS week~!!
